Heathrow expansion plan leaves actor Richard Briers confused & unconvinced

As a Chiswick resident, veteran actor Richard Briers has long supported the campaign to prevent further expansion at Heathrow airport.

In this short film, he’s joined by John Stewart, chairman of lobby group HACAN ClearSkies and Justine Greening, the Conservative MP for Putney, as they voice their dissatisfaction over the Heathrow consultation document, which was intended to gauge public opinion on whether plans to build a third runway and sixth terminal at Heathrow were economically and environmentally viable.

The major objections they raise over the consultation process relate to its technical nature and allegations that the Department for Transport colluded with the British Airport Authority to make the document more palatable to consultees. The government fiercly denies these claims and is expected to make a decision on further development at the airport during the summer.
